On October 26th, C2C will give a presentation on the Torque product line. Below is an abstract of the presentation.

We choose to independently develop games because of the freedom to create with our own vision. There are, however, many downsides to creating you own game. The biggest concerns of an indie developer are usually financial. Money can solve the issues associated with the lack of intellectual property (ie. an engine), dedicated teammates (ie. unpaid teammates), and documentation (ie. engine support contracts).

GargeGames, through the Torque suite of engines, address the indie’s needs holistically. Torque's low pricing model includes developers who would normally be reliant on open source. Their dedication to creating and maintaining a community provides an infrastructure that would normally not be available to someone with little or no capital.

C2C's presentation will focus on how GarageGames meets the needs of indie developers through their technologies. TGB addresses the needs of 2D and casual game developers. TGE addresses the needs of lower-end, cross-platform developers. TorqueAT, address the needs of next generation PC developers. TorqueX address the needs of next generation console developers. These solutions, along with a gigantic, international on-line community, are available at prices in the $100s per developer -with no royalties.

C2C will also be presenting demonstration applications as well as a discussion on one of the most daunting hurdles when learning Torque's architecture –the networking layer.
